A Smooth Claims Process


If you’ve experienced a loss or damage to your property, it’s important to report it to Brownell Insurance Center or your insurance carrier as soon as possible. This guide will walk you through the proper procedure to ensure a smooth claims process.

Step 1: Contact Brownell Insurance or Your Insurance Company

The first step is to contact Brownell Insurance Center and let us know of your loss. If we are not open, you should call your insurance company’s claims department. You can call Brownell Insurance Center at 603-437-1992. Our open hours are Monday through Friday 9 AM to 5 PM. If you find we are not open please speak directly to your insurance company, you can usually find the phone number on your insurance policy or the company’s website. If you do call the insurance company first, please also contact Brownell Insurance Center during our open hours, so we can also help you through the claim smoothly. Be prepared to provide your policy number, the date of the loss, and a brief description of the loss or damage.

Step 2: Provide Details of the Incident

Once you’ve reached your Brownell Insurance agent or the claims representative of your company, provide as much information as possible about the incident. This may include the date and time it occurred, the location, and any witnesses. If there was a police report filed, provide the report number and contact information for the police department.

Step 3: Document the Damage

Take pictures or video of the damage if possible. This will help the claims adjuster assess the damage and determine the appropriate amount of compensation.

Step 4: Work with the Claims Adjuster

Your company’s claims adjuster will investigate the claim and may request additional information or documentation. Please be quickly responsive to the caller and provide any requested information promptly. If you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We are glad to help.

Step 5: Receive Compensation

Once the claim is approved, you will receive compensation for the covered loss or damage. The amount of compensation will depend on your policy and the extent of the damage. If you feel that you have not been correctly compensated for your loss, please call Brownell Insurance Center at 603-437-1992 and your agent will discuss it and evaluate if further steps can be taken.
